Promised Peace
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27 (NIV)
In the midst of life’s storms, Jesus offers a peace that transcends our understanding. This verse is a comforting reminder that the peace He gives is not fleeting or dependent on circumstances. Unlike the world’s temporary assurances, His peace is enduring and rooted in His presence.
When Jesus spoke these words to His disciples, He was preparing them for His departure. He knew they would face trials, fears, and uncertainties. Yet, He reassured them with the promise of His peace—a peace anchored in trust, not in the absence of trouble.
Lord Jesus, thank You for the peace You offer—a peace that the world cannot give. Help me to rest in Your presence, trusting that You are in control. Calm my anxious heart and fill me with Your perfect peace. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
