Psalms 62:8 (BSB)
Trust in Him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts before Him.
God is our refuge.
In Due Time
Our faith should cover both our spiritual life and our daily earthly affairs. A life of trust in God frees us from worry and provides steadfast strength. Instead of being tossed about by worldly anxieties, we can follow a straight and bright path, like a steamship defying fickle winds.
This trust doesn’t mean idleness, but acting with prudence and integrity. When we rely entirely on the Lord, we gain an deep strength and a clean conscience, regardless of worldly success.
The verse calls us to “pour out our hearts to him.” God already knows our troubles, but He wants us to come to Him and express our deepest feelings. This act of pouring out our heart builds intimacy and exercises our spiritual “trust muscles.”
How can you apply this? Consider your current worries and anxieties. Bring them to the Lord, trusting in Him as your refuge. This dependence on a covenant-keeping God is the most blessed way of living, as He cares for us and carries our burdens.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for involving Yourself in our affairs, and for caring deeply about the outcome of our endeavors. You know all, You understand all, and You have determined what is best. Help us to trust You. Settle our worries and bring about in us a desire to seek You, to pour out our hearts to You, and to abide in Your holiness. In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN.
