2 Timothy 3:1-5
1 This know also: that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, without self-control, fierce, despisers of those who are good,
4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God,
5 having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. From such turn away.
[King James version]
It’s hard to see this happening – not only other parts of the world, but in our own nation, and in our own communities and neighborhoods. In fact, it’s not only hard, but it’s heartbreaking and devastating.
However, we can take comfort in knowing that the Lord knew this would happen, and a separation is taking place between those who love God and those who are rejecting Him.
We also know that the Lord will not forsake anyone who loves Him.
Two additional comforting verses from this chapter:
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them,
15 and that from childhood thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
“Dear Heavenly Father, we’re thankful for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Give us strength each day to stand firm in our faith, and to never be ashamed to let others know that we are living for You, and You alone. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
