I Shall Not Want
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:1-6
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Begin your day by letting these words settle in your heart. The Lord is not a distant ruler—He is your personal Shepherd. He knows your name, your fears, your needs. Because He leads you, you lack nothing essential. Not because life is easy, but because He Himself is enough.
Picture the Good Shepherd gently guiding you to rest, to quiet, to recovery. Even on a busy Tuesday morning, He is restoring what the worries of yesterday drained from you.
Breathe. Receive His peace now. He is guiding you onto paths that display His goodness and glory. Trust the route, even when it feels slow or unfamiliar. His presence is closer than the shadow. His rod protects; His staff pulls you near. You are not alone. God honors you, refreshes you, fills you until you overflow with His grace for others.
Good Shepherd, thank You for claiming me as Your own. Quiet my restless heart this morning. Lead me, feed me, protect me, and use me today for Your name’s sake. I lack nothing because I have You. Walk with me through every moment, and let goodness and mercy chase me all day long. Help me remember that I have everything I need. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
