Growing Strong in Our Faith

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.

Romans 4:20 (NLT)

Abraham was strong in faith, giving glory to God.

In Romans 4:20, we see a man whose body was as good as dead, whose wife was barren, and whose circumstances screamed impossibility—yet he refused to waver. The Greek word for “staggered” paints the picture of a soldier standing firm under a hail of arrows; Abraham absorbed every doubt, every delay, every whisper of logic, and still lifted his eyes to the Promiser, not the problem. His faith wasn’t a feeling; it was a deliberate choice to honor God’s character above his own senses.

Today, when the worries of the day tempt you to stagger, plant your feet on the same ground Abraham did: God is not a man that He should lie. Give Him glory before the answer arrives, and watch the same strength that raised the dead fill your weary heart.

Jesus, thank You for Your mercy. Please help us grow in our faith and to give you thanks in all life’s circumstances. Teach us to be patient and steadfast. To You goes all glory. In Your precious name we pray, AMEN.
