MORNING DEVOTION (March 25)

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Does this mean God will give us strength to do anything we set our mind to? Anything we want? Anything we wish for? Anything we desire?

Not exactly. But it does mean that through faith in Christ, we will have strength for each day, to face whatever may come, to overcome hardships and disappointments. It means God’s comfort will be enough when we face sorrow and pain. It means God will give us the grace to forgive, the wisdom to be kind, and the strength to move forward.

Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Again, God never promised to supply all our desires, but He has promised to supply all our need. Perhaps part of the “supplying” is to show us how to make wise choices, how to take steps in the right direction, and how to trust in His promises even when we can’t see the next step.

“Dear Heavenly Father, we’re thankful there is no limit to Your power and strength. We know that the same power that helped so many others before us is available to us as well. Help us to seek Your help each day, knowing that if we keep close to You, Your faithfulness will never fail, and Your mercies are new every morning. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
