Psalm 90:1-2
King James version: 1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
New International version: 1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. 2 Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Sometimes when we get so consumed by the cares and struggles of life, when the chaos around us feels overwhelming, the past feels too heavy, and the future looks so daunting… it helps to just look to God.
When we stop to consider the greatness of God, the miracle of His creation, the power of His spirt, the depth of His love, and the promise in Christ’s resurrection… then we realize how small and insignificant everything else is in comparison.
“Dear Heavenly Father, help us to focus on Your greatness, and to remember that You are from everlasting to everlasting. You are the refugee we can find shelter in, You are the One we can safely follow. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are cleansed and redeemed. Help us to share Your love with others today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
