(Commentary by Kat L)

Psalm 15

President Donald J Trump is under enormous pressure as he considers the next steps in the conflict between Israel and Iran. Today, let’s pray through Psalm 15 as we ask God to intervene and grant him the wisdom and discernment he will need to navigate America through this.

God, we thank you for Your holiness as we seek to dwell in Your presence and walk in Your ways. When we consider big decisions, we need to be sure we are walking with You. We pray that President Trump is seeking to dwell with you as He considers his options.
“Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?”—Psalm 15:1.

We want to live a life that pleases You, to do the right thing, to keep our speech pure, and to be honest. Help President Trump to seek Your truth and Your heart as he makes decisions.
“Those who walk blamelessly, do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; who have no slander on their tongue, who do no wrong to their neighbor, and cast no slur on others.” — Psalm 15:2-5a

God, we want to live with integrity and love, as it honors You. We know that we will be able to stand firm when we do this. We pray that President Trump stands firm in truth, integrity, and love as he weighs major actions.
“Whoever does these things will never be shaken.”  — Psalm 15:5b

As your love and grace sustains us, we pray that our lives reflect Your holiness and that we bring honor to Your name. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Psalm 15

A psalm of David.

1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart;
3 whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others;
4 who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;
5 who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

Whoever does these things will never be shaken.
