Psalm 62:1-2
1 Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Commentary by Anneta G:
Everyone knows how important it is in construction to have a solid foundation. Whether it’s a home or a skyscraper, or anything in between, one rule is universal: it’s foolish to spend money, time and effort building something if it’s not on a solid foundation.
How much more important this rule is for our very soul, and our eternal salvation! The only rock foundation that is safe to “build on” and put our hope and trust in is Jesus. We know storms will come in life, and we know nothing in this world is certain or really safe.
But if we’re trusting in the true Rock that is Christ, our faith doesn’t need to be shaken by all that’s happening around us. When the Lord is our refuge and our fortress, our soul is safe with Him.
