Romans 5:6-8

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

(Commentary by Kat L.)

God’s love has always been with us, even before we turned to Him or asked for His help. Before we were known to anyone, we were known to Him, and He loved us.

That is such a powerful gift, and a humbling fact. No matter what we do or who we are, He loves us.

God’s unconditional love means that it isn’t something we earn or deserve. It’s a love that stays with us even when we’re not perfect, no matter what we believe or do, or whether we love Him back.

Knowing that God loves us unconditionally can give us a sense of security, peace, and motivation to live a life of love and helping others. The idea of God’s unconditional love can inspire us to love each other more, and it can help us understand how to forgive and accept each other.

We have a purpose, an it is a Holy purpose, no matter what has happened to us in our brokenness. We are children of a powerful God who chose us to do something, and who knows us and loves us. What an amazing thing.

Go forward today with purpose, knowing that God and His beautiful love sustains you, and that He’s cheering you on.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for loving me in my sin and weakness. Thank you for blessing this humble servant with the gifts of home and life and purpose. Thank you for trusting me with the talents and skills I have, so that I may bless others. The power of your love, blessing, and trust sustains me, and the blood of Your son Jesus Christ, whose death was Your ultimate act of love, washes my sin. Forgive this sinner, and help me to humbly serve You today and always. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
