1 Peter 1:6-9
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
[King James version]
Sometimes it’s hard to see the path ahead. It’s hard to see light at the end of the tunnel, it’s hard to see the sun when the storm is so dark around us. But that’s when we need to draw on our faith the most, and remember God is still in control.
As the song below encourages us, “Trust me when you cannot see…. Though the path is veiled and unclear, I am still right here.”
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to trust in You as we walk through life today. Help us to know You are here beside us, and will not leave us alone, even when our human weakness wants to dissolve into fear and doubt. Give us discernment, to know what is really worth holding on to, and when to let go of things that would only weight us down. Help us to endure the experiences that try our faith, knowing Your promises will never fail.
