The Consequences of Sin
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
Sin always promises more than it delivers. In the beginning, it may seem harmless or even appealing, but Scripture reminds us, Sin separates us from God, distorts our hearts, and leads to brokenness in our lives and relationships.
Consider Adam and Eve: one act of disobedience brought pain, toil, and separation from God’s presence. In our own lives, even small compromises can grow into heavy burdens. Guilt, shame, and loss are the inevitable fruit of sin.
Yet, God’s mercy is greater than our mistakes. When we confess and turn back to Him, He forgives, restores, and leads us into life. The consequences of sin are real, but so is the hope of redemption through Jesus Christ.
Lord, Thank You for providing us with Your Word to inform us, for the Holy Spirit to guide us, and for the forgiveness and freedom You offer through Jesus. Help us to recognize sin for what it is and flee from it. Keep our hearts close to You, and guide us in Your ways. Amen.
