John 19:10-11
10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

This scripture makes it clear that it wasn’t the power of man that kept Jesus Christ on the cross. He had all the power of Heaven on His side, and could have removed Himself from the cross and spared Himself.
Instead, he willingly went all the way – for you and for me – to pay the price for our sins.
May we each cherish the cross and cling to our Savior today.
