Romans 12:3-5
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
[King James version]
(Commentary by Anneta G.). I love this scripture! It reminds us that every member of the body is valued and needed, even if we don’t all have the same role. No one should feel they’re more important – or less important – than another, because God can sow the seed of faith in every heart.
The human body is comparable to the body of the church. In the human body, when one member is injured, the entire body feels it – whether it’s a broken leg or a cut on our finger. We hurt together, we heal together, and we support each other.
Every member has a place to fill and a job to do, and God has placed each one of us in our place, right where we are needed. Our heavenly Father gave us each different gifts and talents on purpose, all according to his plan and purpose.
May we each lean on our Savior today, and love and pray for one another.
