META BREAKUP: Zuckerberg cuts ties to pro-immigration organization he co-founded

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has severed ties with FWD.us, the pro-immigration advocacy group he co-founded in 2013, marking another major shift in his philanthropy and corporate approach following President Trump’s reelection.

Bloomberg reports that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has cut ties with FWD.us, the pro-immigration advocacy group he co-founded with other tech executives in 2013. The split between FWD.us and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative follows President Trump’s reelection. The move is part of a broader shift by Zuckerberg, who has made sweeping changes to both his philanthropy and Meta’s policies in response to the evolving political landscape, including rolling back content-moderation practices and dismantling DEI initiatives.

FWD.us was founded in 2013 by West Coast investors, including Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and other wealthy donors. The group aimed to push expanded immigration in coordination with the Senate’s “Gang of Eight” and the Obama administration, arguing it would boost economic growth through an influx of new workers and consumers. The organization discloses little about its funding or operations. It is led by president Todd Schulte, a former Democratic operative. It counts Silicon Valley investor Ron Conway among its top backers, who has said he helped recruit Zuckerberg before the 2013 immigration bill was unveiled.
