From BreitbartThe collective leftist meltdown following Donald Trump’s election victory was not limited to just expressing outrage.  Google also experienced in surge in searches for “move to Canada” from Americans seemingly eager to escape north of the border. Other associated searches that trended include “How to move to Canada with no money.”

Now Toronto reports that as the dust settles on the 2024 race, with Donald Trump emerging victorious over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, many leftists are apparently considering a drastic move – to Canada.

According to data from Google Trends, searches for “move to Canada” skyrocketed in the U.S. around 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, just as Trump was declared the nation’s next president. The top five states leading the charge were Vermont, Maine, Oregon, New Hampshire, and Minnesota – all of which were projected to be won by Harris.

According to The Hill, “Moving to Canada” along with “immigrate to Canada” saw a more than 5,000% spike in online searches. Other destination searches included Ireland, New Zealand and The United Kingdom.  The Hill wrote:

Canada-related searches started ticking up around 8 p.m. ET after polls had closed in the battleground states of Georgia and North Carolina and continued sharply upward before peaking Wednesday morning as many on the East Coast woke up to the election news.

Not surprisingly, the searches mostly came from Democrat-led states:

A map of the data shows searches originating in all states, but especially in parts of the northern U.S. The states with the most interest were Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado and New Mexico.

Well, well, well…. Canada has immigration rules.  The Hill also explains:

Those who are serious about a move will want to start the process immediately, however, as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently announced a 2025 target limiting new permanent residents by 21%.

If you don’t have a Canadian family member who might be able to sponsor you, one of the easiest ways would be to apply through Canada’s Express Entry system for skilled workers, according to immigration law firm Canadim.

The selection process is competitive and comes with a point system to determine eligibility based on a number of qualities including education, skills, experience and language proficiency.

Another option is to seek refugee protection, but successfully convincing immigration officials that you need asylum based on the outcome of an election may prove difficult.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee quipped, “If 2016 is any guide, I doubt that any of these crybabies will actually move to Canada, which will come as a great relief to Canada.”

Multiple traumatized liberals have posted videos on social media announcing their plans to flee the United States.

Here’s one who says he’s going to Australia:

And another claims he’s “leaving the US and moving to Hawaii.” (Who’s going to tell him…?)
