After the Biden administration repeatedly censored and silenced conservatives for four years, suddenly Joe Biden is touting that free speech is in danger under President Donald Trump, and is calling for Americans to stand behind far-left late night hosts.
From the Associated Press: Former President Joe Biden called these “dark days” as he urged Americans to stay optimistic and not to check out in response to what he says are attacks on free speech and tests on the limits of executive power by President Donald Trump.
“Since its founding, America served as a beacon for the most powerful idea ever in government in the history of the world,” Biden said. “The idea is stronger than any army. We’re more powerful than any dictator.”
Biden, 82, speaking publicly for the first time since completing a round of radiation therapy for an aggressive form of prostate cancer, addressed an audience in Boston on Sunday night after receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.
“Friends, I can’t sugar coat any of this. These are dark days” Biden said. He then predicted the country would “find our true compass again” and “emerge as we always have — stronger, wiser and more resilient, more just, so long as we keep the faith.”
Biden commended those who are trying to thwart President Trump’s agenda, touting federal employees who resign in protest, universities and comedians as well as Republican officials who openly go against the Trump administration.
“The late night hosts continue to shine a light on free speech knowing their careers are on the line,” Biden claimed.

Biden is being widely mocked for his “dark days” comment.
Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Tex.) fired back, writing, “Under Joe Biden, up to 15,000 illegal aliens crossed the border each day, inflation hit 9.1%, gas prices reached a record $5.01, and the first ground war in Europe since World War II broke out. Those were the real “dark days.””

Major Swagger: “The dark days was when 20 mil illegals invaded our country and our govt refused to stop it.”
Gary Kennedy: “Wait, did you compel social media and the media to block speech on their platforms just 4 years ago? You can’t say attacks on free speech when you yourself went after speech.”
J Fravor: “Says the guy that had social media sensor free speech. Says the guy that fired federal employees for not getting the shot. Says the man the sent his DOJ after his political opponent with baseless allegations.”
Diane Bekkedam: “Isn’t he the president that censored free speech by taking down any post that went against his agenda with the COVID shot. There were no darker days than those.”
