The former, and future, First Lady Melania Trump posted a statement on social media Wednesday evening, after two terror attacks on the same day left America reeling in horror.
Just after 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, an Islamist driving a rented pickup with an ISIS flag mowed down dozens of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans while they were celebrating the New Year. At least 15 people were killed in the attack, and another 30 were injured, some critically.
A few hours later, around 8:40 a.m., a man drove a rented Tesla Cybertruck, loaded with fuel and explosives, up to the front door of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and detonated the whole thing, causing a massive explosion. The driver of vehicle was killed, and seven bystanders were injured.
Mrs. Trump wrote:
“The incidents of violence that have impacted our communities are deeply concerning. The brutality must stop.
“My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families who are experiencing such profound grief and loss. Let us strive for a future where peace prevails.”
