Former, and future, First Lady Melania Trump released a statement on social media Wednesday evening, after her husband, President-Elect Donald Trump, had delivered his acceptance speech following a landslide victory in his presidential campaign.
Mrs. Trump, 54, has remained behind the scenes and has not been as active on the campaign trail as in the past, but she did attend the Republican National Convention in July.
She also appeared with her husband and stood at his side as he delivered his acceptance speech in Palm Beach, Florida Wednesday morning.

The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility.
We will safeguard the heart of our republic – freedom. I anticipate the citizens of our nation rejoining in commitment to each other and rising above ideology for the sake of individual liberty, economic prosperity, and security.
American energy, skill, and initiative will bring together our best minds to propel our nation forward forevermore.
