MAJOR UPRISING: Protesters storm buildings as Iran spirals into chaos during nationwide shutdown

From Fox News: Iran ground to a near standstill Wednesday as businesses, universities and government offices closed under a government-ordered shutdown amid protests caused by a growing political and economic crisis.

Video footage circulating online and shared by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK) shows intense clashes between protesters and security forces in cities, including Shiraz, Isfahan, Kermanshah and Tehran.

In the videos, protesters chant anti-regime slogans and confront security forces in crowded streets.

Footage included scenes of screaming and apparent gunfire, with demonstrators throwing objects and shouting, “Death to the Dictator” and “Proud Arakis, support, support.”

In other videos, the crowds were heard chanting, “Death to Khamenei!” and “Shame on you, shame on you!”

In the city of Fasa in south-central Iran, the angry crowd reportedly shook the gates of a government complex until they opened:

The Iranian people are fed up with the authoritarian Islamic rule and are rising up together to demand an end to it.

They were chanting, “This year is the year of blood, and the regime of Ali Khamenei the butcher will fall.”

Reza Pahlavi, 65, the Crown Prince of Iran, who is living in exile, is encouraging the Iranian people with social media posts.

“My fellow compatriots, greetings to you and to your honor and bravery. The Islamic Republic tried to keep you confined to your homes by closing public places and universities. But you bravely stood in the streets. I am proud of each and every one of you.

“We need greater solidarity and to hold the streets. Therefore, I ask you to use every opportunity, gathering, and event in the coming days to expand this movement. My team and I will continue to work toward mobilizing more forces, causing greater defections from the regime, and also bringing your voice to the world. Victory belongs to us,” he wrote in one post.
