MAJOR FLIP: Nicki Minaj Fans Say They’re Switching to Republican Party

From Newsweek: Nicki Minaj fans, known as “The Barbz,” are sharing their intentions online to switch to the Republican Party, following Minaj’s public shift to the right and alignment with the Trump administration.

Minaj has previously spoken out against President Donald Trump on multiple occasions during his first term. But his second term in office has been a different story for the Super Bass hitmaker.

In November, Minaj appeared at the United Nations in support of the Trump administration to speak on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. In December, she was interviewed by Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk and the chairwoman of Turning Point USA, the conservative youth organization.

Then, after sharing increasingly supportive social media posts of conservative politics and the Trump administration, Minaj met with Trump and described herself as “probably the president’s number one fan.”

The report notes that some critics have accused the rapper of supporting Trump in hopes that he will issue pardons for her brother and husband. She has responded to those allegations by saying the criticism only “motivates me to support him more.”

Social media is blowing up with posts by Minaj’s fans, saying they are switching to Republican.

“Nicki Minaj’s recent political involvement inspired me to follow current events and global issues more closely. Democrats treatment of her just for sharing her opinions is disturbing. I’m registering as #Republican valuing free thought and integrity over party lines. #Barbz #MAGA,” one fan wrote.

X user @barbiebqluv (Channel) announced on Friday, “Today is the day i switch to republican🇺🇸. Seeing how the democrats treated nicki minaj on social media, the press, and in public. they were mocking a black woman trauma is just insane to witness. i may get hate for this but I believe it’s the right thing to do.❤️🇺🇸”

In follow-up posts, Channel added, “and I’m not looking back.”

“I’ve never voted but this year I AM voting,” she declared in another post.

Another fan posted a photo of Trump and Minaj together and wrote, “Officially a Republican!!!!!!! I’ll never vote for a democrat ever again 🎀🇺🇲 #MakeAmericaGAGAgain.”

Warren Petersen, Arizona state Senate Leader, replied, “Welcome to the party!”

Another Minaj fan wrote, “They told me to shut up, trust the media, ignore the borders, and accept nonsense. So I switched to Republican. Trump was the wake-up call, not the problem. 💥🇺🇸 #BARBZ #MAGA.”

Minaj fan @onikatf announced, “Just OFFICIALLY left the Democratic party. I’m disgusted with the way they’ve been handling things. Maybe I was blinded? Maybe I didn’t know any better, but growth is always the next goal. Nicki Minaj x MAGA for the win. Switching parties never felt so good. Register.”

Yet another added, “One biggest lie I’m realizing is, I CAN be black, #PROBLACK, and still vote republican and support #MAGA…. And I’m seeing they support blacks and celebrate our culture… THERES DEFINITELY INCLUSION HERE 🤝😂🤣😭🔥🇺🇸.”

X user America First Stacey wrote, “I have to admit, I WAS in the camp of celebrities no longer move the needle politically. But I am not too proud to admit when I am wrong. I have never witnessed anything like the #BARBZ phenomenon. @NICKIMINAJ is doing God’s work opening people’s hearts and minds to join together and save our country. I LOVE IT! Thank you Nicki and thank you Barbz!”
