From Fox News: Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., said in a Thursday post on X that he remains opposed to the Senate reconciliation measure.
“I agree with my colleagues that the federal government has mismanaged federal lands for decades. But I don’t agree with their solution. The solution is not to sell public lands. The solution is better management. Let’s send legislation to POTUS desk to improve management and access. I remain a no on the senate reconciliation bill,” the lawmaker noted.

The president has been urging lawmakers to pass the measure.
Zinke, who served in the first Trump administration as the interior secretary, posted a follow-up X post that said, “Ever dream of filling a tag for elk, mule deer or pronghorn antelope? Near impossible or prohibitively expensive without access to public lands. Public lands belong in public hands!”

In a press release, the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee said, “Today, the Senate Parliamentarian again advised that several provisions in the Republicans’ “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
The bill would have a 60-vote threshold if those provisions remain in the bill.
“Democrats continue to show up and fight every provision of this Big, Beautiful Betrayal of a bill, because this bill is an attack on workers and families everywhere,” said Ranking Member Jeff Merkley.“Democrats will not stand idly by while Republicans attempt to circumvent the rules of reconciliation in order to sell off public lands to fund tax breaks for billionaires. We will make sure the Byrd Rule is followed and review any changes Republicans attempt to make to the bill.”
Meanwhile, GOP Sen. Mike Lee of Utah is supportive of the bill as is.
“Housing prices are crushing families and keeping young Americans from living where they grew up. We need to change that,” Lee said.
“Yes, the Byrd Rule limits what can go in the reconciliation bill, but I’m doing everything I can to support President Trump and move this forward,” he noted.
