Democrats melted down in a raging fit when First Lady Melania Trump restored the White House Rose Garden during the first Trump administration, and then dissolved into fits all over again when President Trump replaced the grassy lawn of the Rose Garden with stone pavers.
Now, the liberal Democrats are erupting in fury as construction began this week on a new $250 million ballroom Trump is having built on the East Wing of the White House.
Trump has explained that he will be funding the ballroom project himself, along with donations as large as $25 million from dozens of companies, including Apple, Amazon, Lockheed Martin and Coinbase.
The Democrats’ tears come despite they are the ones who have vandalized, toppled, dismantled and removed a number of historic statues from multiple locations over the past few years.
But now Democrats claim President Trump is destroying the White House.
Defeated 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton poured fuel on the hysteria, writing in a post on X, “It’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom joined in, claiming, “Ripping apart the White House just like he’s ripping apart the Constitution.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) raged, “Oh you’re trying to say the cost of living is skyrocketing? Donald Trump can’t hear you over the sound of bulldozers demolishing a wing of the White House to build a new grand ballroom.”
Many X users are reminding Warren the ballroom isn’t costing taxpayers one penny.

Meanwhile, social media users are blasting Hillary Clinton, and telling her she better sit down and be quiet.
DMLNewsApp founder and podcast host Dennis Michael Lynch fired back at Clinton, writing, “Here’s an example of the over exaggerated outcrying about the new construction. Don’t they realize Trump won’t even get to use this ballroom as president by the time it’s done? This is a generational gift to future presidents.”

Mark Hemingway retorted, “Yes, between selling nights in the Lincoln bedroom to donors and her husband’s tutelage of the interns in the Oval Office, if anyone treated the WH as sacred it was the Clintons.”
Podcast host Benny Johnson wrote:
Hi Hillary, Remind us, wasn’t it you who walked off with $28,000 in White House furniture when you moved out? And your husband who defiled the Oval Office during his presidency?
President Trump’s funding a beautiful new ballroom out of his own pocket.
Where was this outrage when taxpayer dollars paid for:
– Roosevelt’s West Wing
– Taft’s Oval Office
– FDR’s East Wing and private pool
– Truman’s full White House rebuild
– Nixon’s bowling alley
– Obama’s basketball court
The fact your comments are off speaks volumes.

Eric Trump fired back at Clinton, writing, “The ballroom will be spectacular… unlike your work in Haiti.”
Retired Air Force pilot Buzz Patterson, who carried the ‘Nuclear Football’ during the Clinton administration and has written a book about the Clinton scandals, wrote, “Your husband had sex in the Oval Office. Prolly should sit this one out.”
X user ‘Catturd’ wrote, “What was your husband doing with cigars while he was in “our house” Cankles.”
Sara Rose wrote, “You stole $28,000 of furniture from the White House and had to return it.”
Fox Business host Dagen McDowell wrote, “What her husband did inside “our house” is the real abomination.”
Podcast host Brilyn Holland wrote, “Your husband used it as a sex lounge maybe sit this one out…”

The White House Rapid Response Team posted a list of other presidents who approved remodeling projects to the White House:
A lot of FAKE OUTRAGE over construction of the big, beautiful (and privately funded) White House Ballroom.
FACT: Presidents have been renovating and expanding the White House for more than 100 years.
In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt built the West Wing .
In 1909, President William Howard Taft added the first Oval Office during a West Wing expansion.
In 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt added a second floor to the West Wing; in 1934, he relocated the Oval Office to its current spot, completed the East Wing, and built an indoor swimming pool.
In 1948, President Harry Truman began completely gutting and rebuilding the White House interior, preserving only the exterior walls.
In 1970, President Nixon converted FDR’s pool into the press briefing room; in 1973, he added a bowling alley in the basement.
In 2009, President Obama upgraded the tennis court into a full basketball court.
Now, in 2025, President Trump has broken ground on a grand ballroom — modernizing the wing while privately funding the project.

Meanwhile, Trump commented on the construction while speaking at a Rose Garden luncheon on Tuesday.
“You probably hear the beautiful sound of construction to the back here. You hear that sound? That’s music to my ears. I love that sound,” he said, adding, “When I hear that sound, it reminds me of money. In this case, it reminds me of lack of money because I’m paying for it.”
