FBI Director Kash Patel challenged the media to confront who’s truly “lying” about his discovery of classified documents tied to the Trump-Russia collusion probe.
His comments follow reports that “burn bags” containing thousands of related documents were found at FBI headquarters. Posting on X Saturday, the director referenced his time as senior counsel for the House Intelligence Committee during Trump’s first term and wrote:
“In 2017/18, I proved the Steele Dossier was fictitious intelligence, weaponized by corrupt FBI officials to deceive a federal judge and unlawfully spy on then presidential candidate Trump’s campaign- all paid for by his opponent. The media called me a liar. Now I’m the FBI Director: We just uncovered burn bags/room filled with hidden Russia Gate files, including the Durham annex, and declassified them. Once again, I released the prior FBI’s own documents and exposed the truth. The same media is calling me a liar again. Maybe this FBI will release more docs directly, from FBI HQ… so we can see who is lying- wouldn’t want to deprive the fake news of more bogus Pulitzers.”
Fox News reported that one major discovery includes the classified annex to John Durham’s final report, revealing the intelligence behind his probe. The finding adds to growing evidence of efforts to undermine Trump’s first term.
Last month, documents from the Director of National Intelligence showed “overwhelming evidence” that Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration politicized intelligence to create the “Russia hoax,” according to director Tulsi Gabbard. While mainstream media has chiefly ignored these revelations, Patel said these documents won’t be buried in burn bags.

Now I’m the FBI…
