The violent riots in Los Angeles all started over “misinformation”, but instead of using his authority to restore calm and squelch the uprising, California’s Democrat Governor, Gavin Newsom, has fueled the flames by blaming the Trump administration.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin has explained that ICE was serving criminal judicial warrants in the Los Angeles area over the weekend, “targeting those who already have a deportation orders or who have criminality that has been signed off on by a federal judge.”

However, anti-ICE activists claimed ICE was sweeping through neighborhoods and businesses, kicking doors down and arresting everyone, and a few hundred protesters quickly grew to a few thousand. The rioters waved Mexican flags, attacked police, blocked freeways, burned cars, threw rocks and bricks at officers, vandalized buses and buildings, and more.

When the violence got out of control, President Trump authorized the National Guard to be deployed, and that really sent Gov. Newsom into a rage.

The U.S. Northern Command announced in a press release that “approximately 2,000 California Army National Guard soldiers have been placed under federal command and control in a Title 10 status to support the protection of federal personnel and federal property in the greater Los Angeles area.”

“Additionally, approximately 500 Marines from 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines at Twentynine Palms, California, are in a prepared to deploy status should they be necessary to augment and support the DoD’s protection of federal property and personnel efforts,” the announcement reads.

Newsom blasted out a statement Sunday evening, declaring, “I have formally requested the Trump Administration rescind their unlawful deployment of troops in Los Angeles county and return them to my command. We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved. This is a serious breach of state sovereignty — inflaming tensions while pulling resources from where they’re actually needed. Rescind the order. Return control to California.”

Kamala Harris also released a statement slamming the Trump administration and voicing her support for the rioters, claiming the demonstrations have been “overwhelmingly peaceful.”

Here’s just one look at the “overwhelmingly peaceful” acts taking place Sunday night:

Newsom is doubling down.  He admitted the violence isn’t peaceful, but defiantly claimed, “Donald Trump is the sponsor of these conditions.”

Border Czar Tom Homan had indicated Newsom should be arrested.

Newsom fired back by daring Homan to arrest him.

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell conceded during a press conference Sunday afternoon that the violence has escalated and “we’re overwhelmed.” He admitted that the National Guard might be needed after all.

President Donald Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Saturday night, “Jim McDonnell, the highly respected LAPD Chief, just stated that the protesters are getting very much more aggressive, and that he would “have to reassess the situation,” as it pertains to bringing in the troops. He should, RIGHT NOW!!! Don’t let these thugs get away with this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

“Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!” Trump wrote.

In another post, he added, “ARREST THE PEOPLE IN FACE MASKS, NOW!”

President Trump, accompanied by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, stepped off Marine One at Bedminster Airport in New Jersey Sunday afternoon, as they were preparing to board Air Force One to travel to Camp David for a meeting with military leaders and others.

Speaking with reporters, Trump had fierce words for the violent protesters, and noted that their new tactic is to spit on police and federal agents. Trump said the rule now is, “if you spit, we hit!”
