Kamala Harris slams arrest of Don Lemon, gets slapped back down on social media

Social media users are blasting Kamala Harris after she complained last week when her old pal Don Lemon got arrested for joining a screaming mob who stormed into a Minneapolis area church on Sunday, January 18, during the middle of their services.

Harris unleashed her fury in a post on X, raging against the Trump administration for arresting Lemon.  She wrote:

The First Amendment is a foundational promise to every American: Each of us has the freedom to speak, to report, and to hold those in power accountable without fear of retribution or retaliation.

Today, Donald Trump and his administration are once again trampling on our rights and our freedoms. Journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort were fulfilling their duty to the American people to report and inform, and they have been arrested for it.

Donald Trump continues to consolidate power and show a flagrant disregard for the rule of law. This arrest is another affront to our rights and freedoms and should alarm and enrage us.

Lemon has since been released from jail. But social media users torched Harris for defending Lemon.

Daily Signal editor Tyler O’Neil fired back at Harris, writing, “To be clear, are you saying you won’t condemn the invasion of a church service or someone who promoted that invasion? These people told young kids that their parents are Nazis and going to hell, and Don Lemon allegedly strategized with them.”

Retired Air Force pilot Buzz Patterson reminded Harris, “The First Amendment doesn’t protect crime. Try again.”

Journalist Caleb Parke reminded Harris, “Your administration arrested pro-life grandmas for praying at abortion clinics using the FACE Act.

“This was much worse. The anti-ICE mob terrorized the congregation. And Don Lemon, if he’s a veteran journalist, should know he needs permission to enter a church service with a mic and camera. He got into the face of the pastor on the pulpit and stayed even after the pastor repeatedly asked him to leave. You know this, Madame Veep.”
