FROM NBC NEWS: Speaker Mike Johnson is staring down a revolt from House Republican women.
Several female lawmakers have been increasingly defying Johnson, R-La., on legislative matters and lobbing public broadsides at him — including a member of Johnson’s own leadership team.
This week alone, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., launched a discharge petition to go around Johnson and force a floor vote on a congressional stock trading ban, posting on X that she’s “pissed” that leadership isn’t moving fast enough on the issue while clarifying, “I like Mike.” Johnson prefers to go through regular order, and there has been an initial hearing on the issue.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R- New York), the chair of House Republican Leadership, signed on to Luna’s petition, saying, “The Congressional stock ban is an important step…We should call it the PELOSI Act. and publicly slammed Johnson as a liar regarding a separate issue in the national defense bill.
Johnson seemed unfazed by the complaints, saying in recent comments that he’s “not worried” about his standing “at all.”

Meanwhile, we have seen Members of Congress in both parties abuse their position in elected office by making millions on stock trades – no…

Just more lies from the Speaker.
And in true to form, the Speaker texted me yesterday claiming he “knew nothing about it.” Yeah right. This is his preferred tactic to tell Members when he gets caught torpedoing the Republican agenda.
It wasn’t on your radar? This is the ONLY… https://t.co/AKxC6CU8ma
