JUST IN: Charlie Kirk’s devastated widow makes defiant promise to the nation during tribute to slain husband

FROM DAILY MAIL: Erika Kirk, wife of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk made her first public address since her husband’s assassination on Friday evening and promised to continue the political movement her husband started.

Speaking from the same studio that was used by Charlie, Erika addressed an online audience of around 200,000 viewers just after 8:25pm.

During an emotional speech she called on Kirk’s followers to become members of a church before making a vow to her late husband.


“Charlie, I promise I will never let your legacy die, baby,” she said. “I promise I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen.”

“My heart is with every one of my husband’s employees who lost a friend and a mentor,” she said. “He loved what he did.”

During the emotional 15-minute speech, Erika thanked President Donald Trump and his family.

“Mr President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him, too. He did. Your friendship was amazing. You supported him so well, as did he for you,” she said.

She also lavished praise on Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, for their friendship and support and for “bringing him home.” Vance and Usha escorted Charlie Kirk’s casket from Utah to Arizona aboard Air Force Two.

She thanked law enforcement for keeping her and her family and the event participants safe, and the “first responders who struggled heroically to save Charles’ life, and the police who acted bravely to ensure there were no other victims on that terrible afternoon.”

She celebrated Charlie’s life, describing the hobbies he had and the teams he supported.

“Charlie loved life,” she said. “He loved America.”

Erika emphasizes Charlie’s strong Christian faith and his belief in strong, Biblically based families. She revealed, “Charlie said if he ever ran for office, his top priority would be to revive the American family.”

“That was his priority,” she said.

In one emotional moment, she described how their 3-year-old daughter had recently asked for her father after his death. Erika said her dad was on a long trip with Jesus.

She pledged to continue Charlie’s work, saying the planned campus visits at US universities would continue, and that his podcast, which “he loved,” would also keep going.

Addressing he husband’s killer and those who wished to silence Charlie, she said, “You have no idea the fire that you ignited within this wife, the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

She pledged to never let Charlie’s legacy die.
