JAW-DROPPING: Co-hosts of The View fume over Hegseth setting tough physical standards for combat troops

7

The co-hosts of ABC’s ‘The View’ had a meltdown Tuesday, after Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said in a speech before hundreds of commanders and generals at Quantico Marine Corps Base in Virginia that all combat forces must meet the same physical standards, in order to be ready for life and death situations.

Hegseth declared there will be no more fat troops – nor fat generals and admirals – and said there will also be “no more DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusion.”

The View co-hosts just proved Hegseth’s point, as they slammed him for “fat-shaming,” and liberally claimed they can’t understand why he is so concerned about fat troops or tough physical standards.

“Why is he obsessed with fat?” co-host Joy Behar asked.  “And fitness?”  co-host Sunny Hostin added.

“I’m really befuddled by why he did that. The optics were terrible,” Hostin claimed.

“It also didn’t make a lot of sense to me that he was saying that he was going to toughen physical standards and review the anti-hazing policy by sort of implementing a hazing policy and then also he said he was going to return to the highest male standard for combat positions because the troops were fat. I just, I don’t understand how that was supposed to be an uplifting message for our military,” Hostin continued.

Perhaps she thought Hegseth should have handed out blue ribbons and boosted their egos by telling them what a good job they were doing?

Behar also mocked comments by President Donald Trump, who spoke at the event after Hegseth.

“So how do think the highest-ranking U.S. military officials feel about taking orders from a reality star and a former talk show host?” Behar sneered.
