The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been digging furiously into the waste, fraud and corruption across multiple federal agencies, and what they’re uncovering has stunned the nation.

DOGE is posting some of their findings on X each day.

In one post on Sunday, the DOGE team suggested just one way the Treasury Department could save a massive amount of money – stop sending paper checks!  The statement reads:

A post on…paper checks!

-Treasury processed 116 million paper checks in FY2024.
-In FY2023, $25 billion in tax refunds were delayed or lost due to returned or expired checks.
-Treasury maintains a physical lockbox network to collect checks for tax (IRS), passport (State Department), etc. It costs approximately $2.40 per check to maintain this lockbox network.
-Deleting paper checks would save at least $750 million per year.

Another post by DOGE reveals some of the most bizarre projects the federal government has been shelling out money for – all at the expense of U.S. taxpayers.

US taxpayer dollars were going to be spent on the following items, all which have been cancelled:

– $10M for “Mozambique voluntary medical male circumcision”
– $9.7M for UC Berkeley to develop “a cohort of Cambodian youth with enterprise driven skills”
– $2.3M for “strengthening independent voices in Cambodia”
– $32M to the Prague Civil Society Centre
– $40M for “gender equality and women empowerment hub”
– $14M for “improving public procurement” in Serbia
– $486M to the “Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening,” including $22M for “inclusive and participatory political process” in Moldova and $21M for voter turnout in India
– $29M to “strengthening political landscape in Bangladesh”
– $20M for “fiscal federalism” in Nepal
– $19M for “biodiversity conversation” in Nepal
– $1.5M for “voter confidence” in Liberia
– $14M for “social cohesion” in Mali
– $2.5M for “inclusive democracies in Southern Africa”
– $47M for “improving learning outcomes in Asia”
– $2M to develop “sustainable recycling models” to “increase socio-economic cohesion among marginalized communities of Kosovo Roma, Ashkali, and Egypt”

The Department of Education announced Monday that over $600 million in grants has been slashed from their budget.   In a press release, the agency wrote:

The U.S. Department of Education today announced it has terminated over $600 million in grants to institutions and nonprofits that were using taxpayer funds to train teachers and education agencies on divisive ideologies. Training materials included inappropriate and unnecessary topics such as Critical Race Theory; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); social justice activism; “anti-racism”; and instruction on white privilege and white supremacy. Additionally, many of these grants included teacher and staff recruiting strategies implicitly and explicitly based on race.

The grants are awarded to teacher preparation programs that train future classroom teachers. Examples from the grant applications included:

  • Requiring practitioners to take personal and institutional responsibility for systemic inequities (e.g., racism) and critically reassess their own practices;
  • Receiving professional development workshops and equity training on topics such as “Building Cultural Competence,” “Dismantling Racial Bias” and “Centering Equity in the Classroom”;
  • Acknowledging and responding to systemic forms of oppression and inequity, including racism, ableism, “gender-based” discrimination, homophobia, and ageism;
  • Building historical and sociopolitical understandings of race and racism to interrupt racial marginalization and oppression of students in planning instruction relationship building discipline and assessment;
  • Providing “targeted practices in culturally relevant and responsive teaching abolitionist pedagogies and issues of diversity in classroom management”; and
  • Providing spaces for critical reflection to help educators confront biases and have transformative conversations about equity.

Here’s another one… check out this insane USAID project that just got cancelled.  We’re not even going to try to explain this one… it is a MUST-WATCH:
