Pop star Lizzo, while facing lawsuits over a toxic workplace, will campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris.
A campaign official confirmed Lizzo will join Harris at a rally in Detroit on Saturday, with Usher later joining Harris for a rally in Atlanta.
“But I thought that today was a special moment to share that I did vote, and I voted for Kamala Harris,” Lizzo said, according to CNN. “There’s so many important issues on the ballot this year. And I just want to encourage everyone—I know everyone in this room is going to vote—but please, anyone who’s going to see this video or hear this, please vote.”
Lizzo’s announcement of joining Kamala Harris for a rally follows her reveal at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in California that she had already voted for Harris in the upcoming presidential election, according to Fortune.

In August 2023, three former tour dancers filed a lawsuit against Lizzo, accusing her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. They also claimed they were pressured to touch nude performers during a live sex show.
In spring 2024, the pop star hinted she was quitting the music industry, but later clarified she meant, “I quit giving any negative energy attention.”
