Hurricane Beryl, the first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic season, has rapidly intensified and is now a Category 3 hurricane.
It is expected to become an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane as it approaches the Windward Islands early Monday.
The hurricane poses a significant threat to the region, with life-threatening winds and storm surge expected.
Authorities have issued hurricane warnings for Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines.
