REPORT: House Republicans want to strip Mamdani of citizenship, possibly deport over form omissions

From the New York Post: The first immigration case NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani may have to confront if elected could be his own – as two House Republicans push the Justice Department to probe his path to citizenship and possibly boot him from the US.

Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) last week demanded the feds “review every naturalization of the past 30 years – starting with Mamdani.”

“I just think we need to take a hard look at how these folks became citizens, and if there is any fraud or any violation of the rules we need to denaturalize and deport,” Fine told the Post.

He also called for a probe of anti-Israel “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who was born in Somalia and is one of the first two women Muslims to serve in Congress.

“I know that there’s a lot of us that are very, very concerned about the enemy within – people who have come to this country to become citizens, to destroy it,” Fine warned

According to Breitbart, Fine introduced a bill on Friday called the Disqualifying Dual Loyalty Act of 2025. The bill would prohibit the election of any person holding foreign citizenship, even dual citizenship with the U.S. and another country.

Fine’s legislation would not only apply to future candidates but would also require any current member of Congress holding dual citizenship to renounce foreign citizenship if seeking reelection, Breitbart explained.

Earlier this month, Fine wrote in a post on X, “Mamdani is little more than a Muslim terrorist. It’s a disgrace he was ever granted citizenship. You don’t have a right to live in this country if you support war criminals.”

Another House Republican, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), said in June that Mamdani lied on his sworn statement when he became a naturalized citizen in 2018, and has called for the Justice Department to investigate him.

“In 2018 when he was naturalized, he failed to disclose some of the things that he had been doing, one of which was joining the Democratic Socialists of America. That’s a communist organization which, quite frankly, at that time, would have disqualified him from becoming a United States citizen,” Ogles reportedly stated.

Also in June, conservative podcaster Matt Walsh highlighted a post by Mamdani from 2020 in which he was calling to removed a statue of Christopher Columbus.

“Mamdani became a US citizen in 2018. Two years later he was already working to tear down monuments to our historical icons. The incredible arrogance and entitlement of this whiney, ungrateful brat,” Walsh wrote in disgust.
