Former President Donald Trump, the 2024 Republican presidential nominee, is blasting Kamala Harris and Joe Biden over the federal response to the devastation caused across multiple states by Hurricane Helene.

According to an NBC News report on Thursday, the death toll has now risen to 202 so far. The confirmed deaths include at least 98 in North Carolina, 19 in Florida, 33 in Georgia, 39 in South Carolina, 11 in Tennessee and two in Virginia.

However, multiple local residents have warned that the death toll is much worse than what is being reported, and several witnesses have said they have seen bodies floating down the river and even stuck in previously-submerged trees.

In a post on his Truth Social page Thursday morning, Trump wrote, “Kamala and Sleepy Joe are universally being given POOR GRADES for the way that they are handling the Hurricane, especially in North Carolina. It is going down as the WORST & MOST INCOMPETENTLY MANAGED “STORM,” AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL, EVER SEEN BEFORE – BUT THEIR MANAGEMENT OF THE BORDER IS WORSE! MAGA2024.”

In another post Thursday afternoon, Trump added, “Heading to Michigan — We’ll be going to North Carolina next week. Date to be determined, because I don’t want to do anything that’s going to interrupt their Rescue efforts.”

Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), who is helping with the rescue efforts, voiced his outrage over Joe Biden’s “photo op,” which “required a 30-mile flight restriction for 4 hours hindering/stopping that relief work.”
