From NY PostA recall of mislabeled cases of Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar has been upgraded amid a serious health risk, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA and Dr. Pepper announced a voluntary recall last month of 19,203 12-pack and 24-pack cases of 12-ounce cans of Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar.

The cases of soda were found to contain “full sugar.”

Consumers are asked to share the information with loved ones who are at risk. The recall is most relevant to individuals with diabetes or who are following low-sugar diets, as a normal can of the beverage contains 39 grams of sugar.

The recalled product was distributed to stores in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. The affected cans have the product code XXXXRS05165 with a “best by” date of Feb. 16, 2026.

The Class II designation means it poses a low risk of serious health consequences, as the adverse effects are temporary or medically reversible.

Consumers who purchased the recalled product should return it to wherever they bought it for a full refund.
