Happy Birthday wishes pour in for President Trump, Putin telephones

Saturday, June 14 is Flag Day.  It’s also the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. And, Saturday is also President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.

Trump was born June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York, the fourth child of Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. After a highly successful career in business and real estate, Trump was first elected as America’s 45th president in 2016. He served four years, then was out of the Oval Office for four years, and returned to win a second term in the 2024 election in a historic landslide victory.

Well wishes are pouring in across social media for President Trump’s birthday.

Evangelical leader Franklin Graham wrote, “Happy Birthday to President @realDonaldTrump! He has a hard job, and he loves this country. Join me in praying for him and his family today. May God give him wisdom and direction as he leads our nation.”

From the White House: “Happy Birthday to Donald J. Trump, 45th and 47th President of the United States — a fearless patriot guiding our nation into the true Golden Age of American prosperity and strength. 🇺🇸🦅.”

President Trump announced in a Truth Social post Saturday afternoon that he had received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin.  Trump’s post reads:

“President Putin called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday, but to more importantly, talk about Iran, a country he knows very well. We talked at length. Much less time was spent talking about Russia/Ukraine, but that will be for next week.

“He is doing the planned prisoner swaps – large numbers of prisoners are being exchanged, immediately, from both sides. The call lasted approximately 1 hour. He feels, as do I, this war in Israel-Iran should end, to which I explained, his war should also end.”

From Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick: “Since day one, President Trump has had the back of America and American workers. Here at home and on the world stage President Trump has brought respect and admiration back to our great nation. I cannot be prouder to work in his administration. Happy Birthday to the greatest President in American History. The Golden Age of America is well underway.”

From journalist James O’Keefe: “Happy birthday to this guy, who I’m jealous of because he has been sued more times than me.”

From Podcaster Benny Johnson: “Happy Birthday to the first President in my lifetime who took a bullet for this country. Evil tried to stop Donald Trump, but he’s still standing, more powerful than ever. A testament to God’s promise and grace. Here’s to many more years of Making America Great Again. 🇺🇸”

From Bo Loudon, who is a friend of Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump:

President Trump turns 79 years young today. Today is also Flag Day and the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Army. This isn’t just a coincidence. That’s divine timing. God raised up this man for this moment. We’re watching God’s hand at work.

I’ve supported President Trump since the very beginning of his campaign and I always will. Trump is one of the most amazing, gracious, loving, and selfless leaders we’ve ever had. He didn’t need to do any of this. He had it all – wealth, success, fame, a beautiful family, and admiration from Hollywood and the elite.

And yet, he gave it all up. He’s been lied about, hated, indicted, arrested, and even shot because he loves America, he loves God, and he loves us.
