A video going viral on social media shows a semi-truck barreling down a Missouri highway, traveling in the wrong direction on Wednesday, narrowly missing oncoming traffic.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed Wednesday night that the driver, who “couldn’t read basic road signs,” has now been pulled off the road.
The alarming incident was first exposed by X user @BtcLabe, who was nearly hit by the truck.
@BtcLabe announced Wednesday morning, “This just happened. Highway 61, north of Troy MO about 5 miles. This foreign invader was driving southbound in the northbound lane for about 3 miles. as I was going northbound, he nearly hit me head on before I pulled over to my left. I got on the southbound lane to follow him.”
The video shows the truck speeding down the divided, 4-lane highway on the wrong side, meeting oncoming traffic, and miraculously, not hitting anyway. Finally, the trucker pulled off at a crossing and got back on the right side of the highway.

Once the truck was back in the southbound lane, X user @BtcLabe followed him, then pulled up alongside the truck, capturing footage of the license plate and identifying information on the truck.

@BtcLabe said he ran across a state trooper, and showed him the video, so the trooper then pulled the truck over.

Another video shows the driver in the stopped truck, talking on the phone. He tries to pull the curtain to hide himself, but the camera catches his face.

Internet sleuths got busy, and discovered that the address of the trucking company, Cargo Transportation LLC, is a residential apartment in Hopkins, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis – which is home to a huge Somali migrant community.
According to ShoreNewsNetwork, “U.S. Department of Transportation records show the carrier is registered under DOT number 4083603 and operates a small fleet of commercial vehicles.”

The busted truck driver’s identity has not yet been released.
Wednesday night, Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy announced:
DISTURBING: We have learned that a truck driver with a Minnesota CDL who couldn’t read basic road signs spent MILES driving the wrong way in an 80 TON truck!
Thanks to Missouri law enforcement, this dangerous trucker is now out of service. @FMCSA is also investigating the carrier, Cargo Transportation LLC. We will not stop until America’s roads are safe again for families 🇺🇸
