GOING GLOBAL: Newsom, AOC, trash Trump at European summit as they raise 2028 profiles

From Fox News: Two of President Donald Trump’s top Democratic critics are using appearances at a high-profile European gathering to blast the Republican president’s agenda and beef up their foreign policy chops on the world state ahead of possible 2028 White House runs.

“Donald Trump is temporary,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Friday during a climate change discussion at the Munich Security Conference in Germany. “He’ll be gone in three years.”

And Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, during a town hall at the prestigious conference, pointed to Trump and charged, “We are seeing our presidential administration tear apart the transatlantic partnership, rip up every democratic norm.”

Newsom and Ocasio-Cortez are the most well known of a small group of potential Democratic presidential contenders using appearances in Munich to criticize Trump’s international agenda and offer a contrast to Vice President JD Vance, the perceived 2028 Republican front-runner, who delivered a scathing attack on Europe during his speech at the security forum last year.

“Never in the history of the United States of America has there been a more destructive president than the current occupant of the White House in Washington, D.C.,” Newsom wildly claimed, adding, “Donald Trump is trying to turn back the clock.”

“Donald Trump is temporary. He’ll be gone in three years,” Newsom boasted, adding, “California is a stable and reliable partner in this space, and it’s important for folks to understand the temporary nature of this current administration in relationship to the issue of climate change and climate policy.”

Fox News posted a video compilation of some of Newsom and Ocasio-Cortez’s most outrageous comments, as they repeatedly blasted President Trump, his administration, and conservatives in general.   WATCH BELOW:

“I think many of us are here to say we are here, and we are ready for the next chapter, not to have the world turn to isolation, but to deepen our partnership … and increase commitment to integrity to our values,” Ocasio-Cortez brazenly claimed as she trashed President Trump on the world stage.

AOC was asked, “So when you run for president, are you going to impose a wealth tax or a billionaire’s tax?”

The Democrat Socialist did not deny that she plans to run for president, but smugly responded, “We don’t have to wait for any one president to impose a wealth tax. I think that it needs to be done expeditiously.”

Pushing her socialist agenda, AOC claimed, “We’re seeing economies around the world — including in the United States — where extreme levels of income inequality lead to social instability and, in a sense, drive authoritarianism… That is a direct outcome not just of income inequality, but of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver — the failure to deliver higher wages, the failure to rein in corporations.”

AOC attacked the “massive corporations and billionaires” who are “starting to call the shots” and claimed it is leading to a world “governed by authoritarians.”

However, she never condemned billionaire Democrat donor George Soros.

AOC also trashed President Trump’s tariffs, as she claimed, “The US is in a compromised position. Our commitment and demonstrated consistency on democratic values and human rights is also incredibly strained. Our domestic situation is reflecting globally as well. Tariffs have hurt Americans and it has a negative impact on the US globally as well.”
