On Tuesday, a New York court disbarred Rudolph Giuliani, former New York Mayor and adviser to Donald Trump, citing his repeated false statements regarding Trump’s loss in the 2020 election.
The decision was issued by a Manhattan appeals court, as reported by the Associated Press.
As a result of the ruling, Giuliani is prohibited from practicing law and his name has been removed from the roster of attorneys and counselors-at-law in the state.
Giuliani’s spokesperson did not respond immediately to requests for comment from the wire service on Tuesday.
The 80-year-old Giuliani had previously faced suspension of his New York law license due to false statements made following the election.
