FROM THIS WORLD?: Vance addresses UFO phenomenon, speaks on ‘spiritual forces’ theory

Vice President JD Vance discussed his fascination with UFOs on Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One, admitting he keeps an open mind about “spiritual forces” in the world.

When Devine called herself a “mad UFO-lunatic,” Vance laughed, replying, “Me too.” He added that Secretary of State Marco Rubio “is really into” UFOs as well, noting they often talked about the topic during their Senate days. Rubio appears prominently in the trailer for the documentary “Age of Disclosure,” which features top government officials acknowledging the existence of “otherworldly things.” Devine also mentioned Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, another Trump administration official open to the idea of extraterrestrial life.

“It’s interesting,” Vance replied. “I wouldn’t say that I do or don’t believe it. I’m a big believer that there are things out there that we can’t explain. And so, if another person sees an alien, maybe I see an angel or a demon.”

“So I’m a big believer that there are, like, spiritual forces working on the physical world that a lot of us don’t see and a lot of us don’t understand and a lot of us don’t appreciate,” he added. “There’s an interest there, an intrigue, but I haven’t really had the time to dig in.”

Vance then claimed: “There’s this crazy person inside me, and I’ll put the tinfoil hat on from time to time.” He also vowed to Devine hw would “get to the bottom of this” subject.

Interest in UFOs has surged during the first year of the Trump administration, following a June order to “restore American airspace sovereignty.” The new task force aims to counter threats from unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) by tightening airspace restrictions and advancing drone detection technology.

The National UFO Reporting Center said it logged over 2,000 UFO sightings in the first half of 2025.
