From The Daily Mail: Comedian Shane Gillis stunned the ESPYs crowd on Wednesday night as he mocked President Donald Trump with a Jeffrey Epstein joke.
Gillis became the latest MAGA-friendly media personality to turn on Trump after anti-trans activist Riley Gaines slammed the president on Wednesday for refusing to release the so-called Epstein files.
And Gillis wasted little time addressing that controversial topic while hosting the ESPYs – but first teed up a quip about the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots.
“Donald Trump wants to stage a UFC fight on the White House lawn,” Gillis began. “The last time he staged a fight in D.C., Mike Pence almost died.”
“There was supposed to be an Epstein joke here but I guess it got deleted,” he continued. “Probably deleted itself, right? Probably never existed, actually. Let’s move on as a country and ignore that.”
According to the Mail, “there were audible gasps from the star-studded audience.”
Gillis has drawn Trump’s attention, with the president saying he’s a “fan” of Gillis.
“Well, he’s a very good… I mean, on our side, right?” Trump asked in an interview with The Spectator.
“I like him, and I like everybody that’s on my side. You know, I’m just old-fashioned in that way. I like those people,” Trump said.
Gills, who is known for his impersonation of Trump, has not officially endorsed Trump.
Gillis also targeted Caitlin Clark. When she “retires from the WNBA, she’s going to work at a Waffle House so she can continue doing what she loves most: fist- fighting black women,” Gills said.
