Former Vice President Mike Pence released a statement Saturday night, praising and thanking President Donald Trump for his decision to authorize U.S. airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities.
Pence has been critical of Trump since the end of the first Trump administration, and even briefly ran for president himself during the 2024 Republican primary.
However, in his statement Saturday evening, he offered nothing but praise for Trump’s action on the Israel-Iran war.
His statement reads:
President Trump Made the Right Call to deploy American Forces to strike nuclear sites in Iran and he should be commended for his decisive leadership. Iran could never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
Thanks to the resolve of our Commander in Chief and the courage and professionalism of our Armed Forces, America, Israel and the Free World are safer as a result. Iran should now stand down and abandon any thought of retaliation against Americans or be prepared to face the consequences.

Earlier on Saturday, Pence had said in a guest appearance on a podcast that Trump should “finish the job.”
