Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and President-elect Donald Trump appear to have patched up their differences, following a heated battle during the Republican primaries.
DeSantis released a statement early Wednesday morning, after Trump’s victory was confirmed. He wrote:
“.@realDonaldTrump not only earned a sweeping electoral victory, he earned a mandate for change. The scope of the victory — electoral swing state domination, popular vote victory, and a Republican-controlled Senate — represents a decisive rejection of the Biden-Harris administration.
“Roughly 75% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track. With last night’s results, that is likely to change for the better very soon.”

DeSantis also made a recommendation on who Trump should appoint as Secretary of Health and Human Services – Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo.
“Retweet if you’d like to see this man — Dr. Joseph Ladapo — serve as the Secretary of HHS in the new Trump administration. cc: @FLSurgeonGen,” DeSantis wrote in a post on X.
The post has already gotten over 1.2 million views and 11,000 re-tweets.
Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis was one of those who shared the post, and wrote, “100%.”

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ladapo stood firm is his opposition to vaccine mandates and lockdowns. He also spoke out vehemently against giving the Covid-19 vaccine to children, and voiced strong concerns about the safety of the vaccine.
More recently, Ladapo also stood against the “Amendment 3” proposal in Florida, which would have allowed recreational marijuana to be used in public places.
After Trump won the presidential election, Ladapo wrote on X, “The future of health freedom looks brighter today. Just as in Florida, it’s time to say ‘No’ to trampling on people’s rights, to gaslighting citizens about experimental vaccines that harm instead of help & to muzzling doctors who dissent with orthodoxy. Light triumphs over darkness.”
