Questions are swirling over what happened to all the money raised by “fire aid” concerts for the California wildfire victims, and president Donald Trump just weighed in on the case with a blistering post on Truth Social.
When the star-studded benefit concerts were held in January to help the victims of the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires, raising around $100 million, Fire Aid organizers touted that the money will go directly to the victims.
However, the money did not go directly to impacted families, but instead has reportedly been distributed to over 120 non-profit organizations.
Friday evening, President Trump posted the following all-caps statement on Truth Social:
“FIREAID” IS A TOTAL DISASTER. LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER DEMOCRAT INSPIRED SCAM. 100 MILLION DOLLARS IS MISSING. WAS SUPPOSED TO TO GO TO THE LOS ANGELES FIRE VICTIMS, FIRES THAT, WITH PROPER MANAGEMENT, WOULD NEVER HAVE EVEN HAPPENED. GOVERNOR NEWSCUM REFUSED TO RELEASE BILLIONS OF GALLONS OF WATER FROM NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, AND THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT WOULD HAVE MADE! I HAVE SINCE OVERRULED HIM, AND IT IS NOW RELEASED. All FEDERAL HOUSING PERMITS HAVE ALSO BEEN APPROVED, THE CITY IS YEARS LATE. GET THE FIRE VICTIMS THEIR APPROVALS TO REBUILD, AND DO IT NOW!
California Gov. Gavin Newsom then posted a snarky response, correcting typos and trying to defend himself, saying he had no role in the fundraising effort.
Newsom then argued that it wasn’t a scam, because “Fire Aid has granted $75 million so far to 128 non-profits.” Newsom appears completely oblivious to the fact that this is the main problem – the money was given to non-profits and not to victims.
Newsom also claims that “state water reservoirs in Southern California were at record levels during the LA fires,” and further insisted, “There was no shortage of water in the region.”
In fact, it was widely reported that the Santa Ynez Reservoir in the Palisades area had been closed for repairs, leaving the 117 million gallon water storage facility completely empty, which affected the ability to fight the fire.
Newsom then tried to change the subject, writing, “Nice try. Release the Epstein files!!!!”
Nice try.

Newsom is being slammed over his response to Trump.
“Nice try. Rebuild the Palisades!!!!” retorted independent journalist Kevin Dalton.

Political commentator David Freeman demanded, “Why didn’t you call to release the files for the last 4 years dipsht. You also should talk with the democrat senators who just voted no. You aren’t very good at this politics gig.”

Citing the LA Times doesn’t help your argument, Gavin Newsom.
FireAid was a scam and you promoted it.
You helped steal millions that should’ve gone to victims of the wildfires.
Wildfires you created and allowed to rage.
As for Epstein, 100 names were dropped by Ghislaine.

Can you publish the audit of California’s high speed rail project?
Of course you audited a multi billion dollar project?
