Democrat socialist AOC has gone on the warpath against fellow New Yorker, Democrat leader Sen. Chuck Schumer, after he surrendered to Republicans on Thursday.

From ABC News: New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s decision to vote for the House GOP funding bill to avert a government shutdown “a tremendous mistake.”

She also avoided saying whether she’d primary Schumer next cycle even though it’s something some Democrats are privately urging her to do.

Ocasio-Cortez said that she was concentrating on keeping Democrats from backing the funding bill, during an appearance on CNN on Thursday.

“The strength of our leadership in this moment is going to demonstrate the strength of our caucus,” she told Jake Tapper.

“Everybody knows that Donald Trump is president, that Republicans have the Senate and Republicans have the House. They have the keys to the entire United States government. And if Republicans wanted to avert a shutdown, they can. If they need Democratic votes, then they can negotiate with Democrats to get those votes. It is simple,” AOC fumed.

Tapper asked AOC if she would challenge Schumer for his Senate seat.

Speaking to a reporter, the Democrat Socialist slammed Schumer’s cave to Republicans as a slap in the face, an outrage and a betrayal.

President Trump praised Schumer for his decision. In a Truth Social post Friday morning, Trump wrote:

Congratulations to Chuck Schumer for doing the right thing — Took “guts” and courage! The big Tax Cuts, L.A. fire fix, Debt Ceiling Bill, and so much more, is coming. We should all work together on that very dangerous situation. A non pass would be a Country destroyer, approval will lead us to new heights. Again, really good and smart move by Senator Schumer. This could lead to something big for the USA, a whole new direction and beginning! DJT

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) just blasted out a scathing statement at noon Friday, in a pointed rebuke of Schumer. She wrote:

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have offered the Congress a false choice between a government shutdown or a blank check that makes a devastating assault on the well-being of working families across America.

Let’s be clear: neither is a good option for the American people. But this false choice that some are buying instead of fighting is unacceptable.

I salute Leader Hakeem Jeffries for his courageous rejection of this false choice, and I am proud of my colleagues in the House Democratic Caucus for their overwhelming vote against this bill.

Democratic senators should listen to the women. Appropriations leaders Rosa DeLauro and Patty Murray have eloquently presented the case that we must have a better choice: a four-week funding extension to keep government open and negotiate a bipartisan agreement.

America has experienced a Trump shutdown before – but this damaging legislation only makes matters worse. Democrats must not buy into this false choice. We must fight back for a better way. Listen to the women, For The People.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries released a statement, calling for Democrats to vote against the bill.

A proposal by two radical Democrats, Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT) and Sen. Patty Murray (Wash.) is being upheld by Pelosi and Jeffries as the better option.

They are pushing a four-week continuing resolution to keep the government open and allow all parties to continuing hashing it out… specifically so Democrats can keep fighting to keep many of the wasteful spending programs Republicans have eliminated.

DeLauro declared, “Last week, House Democrats opposed giving Elon Musk and Trump a blank check funding bill that would allow them to gut programs and services families rely on. The Senate must pass a short-term spending bill so we can pass bipartisan bills that protect programs for our communities.”

“Let’s be clear: House Republicans’ funding bill is Congress rolling over for the billionaire arsonists by rolling out a slush-fund filled, year-long continuing resolution that empowers Trump and Musk to pick winners and losers with YOUR taxpayer dollars,” Murray wildly claimed, adding, “I will vote NO.”
