FAREWELL TO A FRIEND: Country star announces date of shock farewell concert amid battle with degenerative nerve condition

FROM DAILY MAIL: Alan Jackson has revealed the date of his farewell concert – Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale – amid an ongoing health battle.

The 66-year-old country artist announced on Wednesday that his last concert will be held in Nashville at Nissan Stadium on June 27, 2026.

The two-time Grammy winner said he couldn’t ‘think of a better place to put on a big show and give the fans a finale than in’ the country music capital.

“It’s been a long road… and it’s taken me places I never imagined,” Jackson, 66, said in a statement to PEOPLE. “But I can’t think of a better place to put on a big show and give the fans a finale than in Nashville and include so many special friends.”

“We just felt like we had to end it all where it all started for me, and that’s in Nashville – Music City – where country music lives,” Jackson said.

Jackson held his final “road tour” show in Milwaukee in May, and announced then that he would be holding a “big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime.”   That big finale show has now been moved up to October, instead of waiting until next summer.
