FACT CHECKED: New York Times gets blasted over deceptive headline after illegal alien attacks ICE agent

1

The Department of Homeland Security and others shredded the New York Times Wednesday night, after the liberal paper published a very deceptive headline about a violent clash between federal immigration agents and an illegal alien Venezuelan that occurred Wednesday evening.

According to DHS, ICE agents were conducting a traffic stop when the the illegal alien Venezuelan fled in his vehicle and crashed into another car. He then tried to flee on foot, and when the agents caught him, the illegal alien began to assault them. Two other individuals came out of a nearby apartment and attacked the agents with a snow shovel and a broom. The first suspect reportedly also struck the agents with the shovel. The ICE agent shot the first suspect in the leg in self-defense.  The ICE agent and the illegal alien both ended up in the hospital, and the other two suspects have been arrested.

The New York Times published a report on the incident, with the headline, “Breaking News: A federal agent shot an immigrant in the leg in Minneapolis, federal officials said, one week after an ICE officer killed Renee Good in the city.”

Deeper into their article, the Times did provide details as the DHS had reported, but started off the report by saying it “came just one week after an immigration agent killed a woman in the city.”

In an effort to cast further doubt on the story, the Times sneered, “The federal government’s narrative could not immediately be verified.”

DHS furiously fired back with all the facts, and wrote, “This despicably misleading headline is exactly why the American people have completely lost faith in the mainstream media. This journalist knows the facts, was given the truth, and adamantly REFUSES to report it.”

Libs of TikTok also blasted the NY Times, and “fixed” their headline, providing details the liberal outlet failed to mention.

“”Agent shoots illegal in the leg in self defense after three illegals ambushed him and attacked him with a shovel.” Fixed it for you,” she wrote.

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin also blasted the New York Times for their deceptive headline on the story, “Federal agent shoots immigrant in Minneapolis.”

“This is the headline NYT went with for the ICE shooting in MN. No mention of alleged shovel attack, multiple suspects involved in alleged attack, legal status of the targeted illegal alien, etc.,” Melugin noted.

Radio host Jason Rantz wrote, “Disgusting and intentionally misleading.”

Social media users are lambasting the Times… this is just a small sampling of the outrage pouring in…
