For at least 20 years, the media has been claiming there are about 11 million illegal aliens living in the United States, despite that hundreds of thousands continue entering each year.
The same number is still being used today, although U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reported that nearly 11 million illegal aliens were apprehended during the four years of the Biden administration alone, based on data from all sectors nationwide.
CBS News repeated the old number in a report on Friday about deportations underway by the Trump administration.
The outlet claimed: “There are an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Many have been in the country for many years.”
NBC News also promoted the fake number, as they covered news of ICE raids this week, and told viewers, “There are roughly 11 million undocumented people around the country.”

- FY 2022 – 2,766,582
- FY 2023 – 3,201,144
