During a telephone interview with Fox & Friends Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump expressed hope that he will make it to Heaven.
Trump was being interviewed about the historic summit he hosted at the White House the day before with 8 European leaders, in his efforts to help negotiate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump has been praised for his efforts to help stop the war, and some are suggesting he should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“I just want to end it. If i can save seven thousand people a week from getting killed, that’s pretty good. I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” Trump said during the phone interview regarding the war. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”

Evangelical leader Franklin Graham reacted to Trump’s comments in a post on Facebook the next day, assuring the president he didn’t have to end a war in order to get to Heaven.
Graham wrote:
President Donald J. Trump brought up the topic of Heaven on Fox News yesterday morning, and I’m glad he did because many people struggle with the question of how we can get there. We do get to Heaven by good works—not by our own good works, but by the perfect work of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, when He came to earth, took our sins to the cross, shed His blood, died, was buried, and God raised Him to life on the third day. We all have the promise of eternal life if we repent of our sins, trust Him by faith, and make Him the Lord of our lives. That’s how one gets to Heaven—not by our good works, but by His.

A reporter asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about Trump’s comments.
Leavitt replied, “I think the president was serious. I think the president wants to get to heaven, as I hope we all do in this room as well.”
