In a post to his Truth Social account minutes before he addressed the nation, President Donald J. Trump posted a photo appearing to show Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in captivity.
A U.S. military strike was conducted in Venezuela early on Saturday morning, as forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, removing them out of the country.
In his post, Trump wrote, “Nicolas Maduro on board the USS Iwo Jima.”
In the photo, Maduro is blindfolded, wearing headphones, and holding a bottle of water.. He looks healthy and alert.
